Annapurna circuit
Annapurna Circuit Trekking- The ultimate trekking experience
The Annapurna Circuit is a classic trek with variations in altitude, topography, people, and culture. This most popular trek starts from Besisahar (a lowland river basin town). From Besisahar, a short mountain jeep ride will take us up to Dharapani. Although the jeep could take us to Manang to acclimatise, we will start our trek from Dharapani. At Dharapani, Manasulu trails connect with the Annapurna trails.
Chame is the district headquarters of Manang, a beautiful small mountain town with various government offices and educational institutes. For tourism, the clear view of Lamjung Himal (mountain) will refresh us after a long trek.
As we climb further towards Pisang and then Upper Pisang, the Annapurnas welcome each trekker with a wide smile, leading towards the Manang Village. Manang is the biggest town in Manang, with modern tourism facilities. We will rest here to acclimatise before crossing Thorong La to reach the magical Mustang on the other side of the famous Annapurna Circuit trek.
After crossing the world's highest pass, Thorong La (5416 M), we reach Muktinath in lower Mustang, which is also one of the important religious sites of Nepal. Muktinath is frequented by Hindus and Tibetans year-round. The Muktinath temple is surrounded by an outer courtyard with auspicious 108 water fountains. It is believed that the sacred water, the origin of the Gandaki River system in Nepal, will wash away past sins and deeds. Muktinath Temple is one of the few places on Earth where we will come across all five elements of life together: Earth, Fire, Water, Sky, and Air.
The motorable road in Mustang is well-connected. Mustang, a lost Tibetan plateau, 'Land beyond the Himalayas', is life behind the mountains in a rain shadow area, an alpine desert, located in the Kali Gandaki valley in Western Nepal. Mustang, in Tibetan, means "fertile plain" in an arid landscape. When we walk through the streets of Mustang, we can see the meaning of fertile land in a vast area of cultivated land that produces enough food for locals and to export/exchange for other requirements.
We will spend the night at Jomsom/Marpha before taking a jeep ride up to Ghorepani to shorten our journey. (If we look to explore, we can walk and complete
Poon Hill's ‘Wonder of Asia’ will welcome us with different perspectives and enjoyment, with the beautiful sunrise view of the mountains and a close-up view of Dhaulagiri (8176 M, the seventh highest mountain in the world). The trail is completed, and the trail is still to be walked to complete the Classic Annapurna Circuit. i.e., Annapurna Base Camp
Annapurna Base Camp (also known as Annapurna Sanctuary or ABC) is one of Nepal’s scenic and adventurous trekking routes. It is a deep glacier that gives the effect of an amphitheatre surrounded by a ring of impressive high peaks, including Hun Chuli, Annapurna South, Annapurna I, Gangapurna, Annapurna III, and Machhapuchhre. The trail to this tremendous scene ascends the Annapurna foothills through forested hillsides, where we are given a taste of Nepal’s magical and majestic vistas with a spectacular sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.
From ABC, we will reach “Mystical Pokhara”, a magical city and the perfect place for adventure, where one can enjoy the amazing mountain views. From our hotel balcony, we can also go paragliding, boat at Phewa Lake, explore the Seti River, and much more. In Pokhara, another beautiful thing to do after a long trek is to enjoy live music with a chilled glass.
