The seven world heritage sites of cultural importance include the Durbar (Palace) Squares of Kathmandu, Patan, and Bhaktapur, (these are also known as City of Joy, City of Craft, and City of the Devotee) built by then kings, the Buddhist stupas of Swayambhu ('Self-Existent One') and Kasti Chaitya -Baudha (largest) and the Hindu temples of Pashupatinath (Lord Shiva -Lord of all) and Changu Narayan (Double roofed Vishnu temple).

At the foot of the Himalayas, Chitwan National Park is situated between two east-west river valleys at the base of the Siwalik range of the outer Himalayas. Chitwan is a unique natural ecosystem consisting of the Churia hills, Ox-bow lakes, and the Rapti, Reu, and Narayani Rivers flood plains.

As a world heritage site of natural importance, Chitwan offers visitors unique biodiversity and a natural and cultural experience.
